The most popular inch size in the best quality

Monitors are getting bigger to display more at once, but the 27 inch monitor in particular seems to be a perfect size. Both Full HD and 4K look good, and it’s still big enough to fit on most desktops. So we’ve brought you three of the best 27-inch monitors here.

Our main product is the Samsung Odyssey G7, which can score points in the overall package and especially plays into the hands of gamers. The Asus TUF Gaming VG279QM is also on this list, as it also excels in all areas and even delivers 280 Hz. With the ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV we have another very good alternative for the smaller budget for you.

Best 27 inch monitor: Samsung Odyssey G7

  • 1000R camber radius
  • HDR

The Samsung Odyssey G7 is the best 27-inch monitor because the overall package is excellent in all areas. The built-in VA panel can display deep blacks, which is why it performs well in dark rooms. The curvature also creates an immersive experience, which plays into the hands of gamers in particular. They will also be happy about 240 Hz, a response time of 1 ms and support for VRR, FreeSync and G-Sync. If a screen curvature rather speaks against the use in the creative field, the excellently covered Adobe RGB color space can still speak for it.

Unfortunately, as with most VA panel monitors, viewing angles are mediocre, making the G7 not the best option for playing co-op games or sharing content. The monitor has a USB hub with two USB 3.0 ports and RGB bias lighting on the back of the monitor. It also has a Picture-in-Picture mode that allows two input signals to be displayed at the same time – ideal for watching a movie or series while gaming.

Even faster pictures: ASUS VG279QM

  • 280 Hz
  • Good viewing angle
  • Good ergonomics
  • Low contrast
  • High input lag at 60 Hz

240 Hz are not enough? How about 280?! This incredibly high refresh rate is offered by the Asus VG279QM. Unlike the Samsung Odyssey G7, this model has an IPS panel that has wider viewing angles. However, the contrast is not as good as the competitor, as black tones look rather gray. The Asus has a backlight strobing feature that can even be used simultaneously with VRR to make motion clarity even clearer.

Unfortunately, it has to cut back a bit in resolution, but the 1080p shouldn’t be a problem for most gamers. The ergonomics are excellent and it has integrated speakers.

For those who prefer smoother gameplay and can cut back a bit on resolution, the Asus is an excellent alternative.

Cheap and good: ASUS ProArt PA278QV

  • Good ergonomics
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Flicker free
  • No HDR
  • Only 75 Hz
  • Low contrast

The best affordable 27-inch monitor for office use is the ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV. At a low price, you get a lot of office-friendly features. It has excellent ergonomics that make it easy to rotate and tilt the screen in different directions.

It’s great for well-lit rooms, as it gets bright enough to avoid glare. The IPS panel offers wide viewing angles, and the 1440p resolution makes for fairly clear text and images. The Asus also has a USB hub with four USB 3.0 inputs.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t support HDR, but that’s to be expected at this price and HDR won’t be used for office work anyway. It also has a low contrast ratio, so blacks appear gray when working in a dark room. Gamers will also get their money’s worth as the Asus has an impressive response time and low input lag, but it is limited to a refresh rate of 75 Hz.
